This couple is proof positive that you’re never too old to fall in love.
Oliver Stilson, 95, was sitting down and minding his own business when Margaret McCoy, 81, walked over and gave a handmade quilt to the woman seated beside him.
Margaret felt bad for giving a quilt to her friend but not to Oliver, despite the fact they were strangers. So Margaret handed Oliver a quilt, too.
He was taken aback. “I looked at it and said, ‘Why did she do that?’” Oliver told WATE.
A week later, an intrigued Oliver found Margaret and handed her a piece of paper with his phone number. He also had a gift for her. He presented her with a miniature old-fashioned baby shoe he’d hand-carved. “I have to give you a gift… you gave me a gift,” he told her. “My name is Ollie, Oliver. Will you go out with me to dinner?”
The pair from Tennessee instantly fell deeply in love — and knew they couldn’t spend one more day apart.
